PALAWAN & MAYOR HAGEDORN

PALAWAN & MAYOR HAGEDORN
Our Palawan roadtrip will never be complete if we haven't met the mayor. When we landed in Puerto Princesa and started our adventure, we tried to look for the mayor’s posters in the city so we can take pictures of it as souvenirs. We often kid our trike driver, Kuya Arn Arn on how we can meet the famous mayor, and he’d just smile on us. We jokingly said that meeting the mayor is part of our roadtrip and that the reason why we visited Palawan is that we want to meet him since he’s done great wonders in Palawan. Our roadtrip to Palawan was about to end when stress began to build up. The plane will be leaving in 5-10 minutes and we haven’t boarded yet. We’re so lucky that they still allowed us to board the plane even if we’re a bit late. Then luck strike again!!! While we were running on our way to the plane, we saw a prominent figure being escorted by the police to the plane. You wouldn’t believe whom we saw, we stopped and took a second look but since we’re really in a hurry, we can’t waste another second just to see whom it was. Who cares! We’re running out of time and the plane is leaving in 5 minutes. Jackie then asked in a curious manner, “Isn’t that Erap? We answered, No! Erap is in Tanay why would he be here in Palawan? She rebutted, “He looks like Erap though”. We managed to take another look and we we’re star-strucked and overjoyed! So we asked the plane porter, “Manong is that Hagedorn? “He answered, Mayor Hagedorn”. Erlyn then reached for her cam and we shouted, “MAYOR”. They all glanced towards our direction and they saw us waiving our hands. It was like seeing a Hollywood celebrity that time. The mayor then waived backed at us and boarded the plane. When we reached Manila, we’re all in a hurry to get out of the plane so we can take a glimpse of the mayor. Erlyn had the courage to approach Mayor Hagedorn and asked if we can take some pictures with him. He said yes and even asked the person who’s carrying his things to take us some pictures.
Palawan will never be the same without the people and their mayor. We’ve explored the beauty of the place. We’ve encountered a lot of hospitable and friendly people. We will definitely visit Palawan again...soon!!!
